Historic Preservation

WSSDAR members participate in various projects to help preserve the cultural heritage of the United States. They focus on restoring and maintaining historic sites, preserving historical records and artifacts, and locating, restoring, and marking the graves of Revolutionary War patriots..

Education

The WSSDAR supports schools, awards scholarships, and recognizes outstanding students throughout the state. Washington Daughters continue our legacy of assisting children in their educational needs, one of our Society’s first bylaws.

Patriotism

The WSSDAR stays true to the precepts of the National Society of God, Home, and Country, and to our own State Society of Patriotism, Reverence, and Remembrance. We make a difference in the lives of hundreds of military members at home and deployed, and the veterans we honor in so many of our activities.

Welcome to the Washington State Society Daughters of the American Revolution. Since our first chapter formed in 1894, we have long been guided by our service in historic preservation, education, and patriotism. From Seattle to Spokane, to Wenatchee to Olympia, to Kennewick to Whidbey Island, Washington Daughters are in our communities, year after year, volunteering to make a difference. Our statewide community—2,700 Daughters in 38 chapters—offers engaging projects, welcoming chapters, and friendships that make service even more meaningful.
As our nation begins its 250th birthday celebration in 2026, it’s a perfect time to look back at the incredible legacy left to us by the generations who built this country. We honor our Revolutionary ancestors while also thinking about the ongoing work of preserving history, educating others, and promoting patriotism in our communities. For the Washington State Society DAR, America’s 250th is both a celebration and a reminder of the mission we’ve carried forward for more than 125 years.
We are grateful you’re here, and we invite you to join us in celebrating our Nation and in the service we’re proud to continue.
